This section describes the features and functional description of the Ethernet switching card, CEF-5. This card is supported in TJ1600 Type-11SR and TJ1600 Type-6SR chassis.
CEF-5 card supports 4x10G LAN over XFP, 8x1000BASE-X over SFP, 4x10G LAN over SFP+ and 4x10/100/1000BASE-TX over RJ45. CEF-5 card supports a switching capacity of 80G. CEF-5 card supports uplink SDH backhaul of 20G capacity. CEF-5 card is also supported in L1 mode providing 20G worth of EOS support.
The CEF-5 card supports the following operational modes:
NOTE 1: The first operational mode is the default mode available when CEF-5 card is jacked in TJ1600 chassis while second and third are licensed based modes.
NOTE 2: In this release, VCGs are supported in TJ1600 Type-11SR chassis when the Data Path Mode is selected as 'SDH'.
STATIC DISCHARGE WARNING: Static charge can damage the equipment. While handling cards for making system interconnections, wear an ESD strap to discharge the static buildup.
