Inter Leaver Unit (ILU) is used to expand the DWDM channel capacity up to 80 channels. Inter leaver combines the 100GHz spacing even and odd wavelengths into 50GHz signals. When used in transmit direction Inter leaver combines the two streams of incoming optical wavelengths spaced at 100GHz and gives output wavelengths at 50GHz signals. In receive direction the 50GHz spacing in-coming signals are separated into two streams of 100GHz signals.
Both MDU-40E-C-100G and MDU-40O-C-100G are used with an optical InterLeaver Unit (ILU-C-50G) to provide 80 Channel aggregation in a pair of fiber at 50GHz.
The front panel view of ILU-C-50G is as follows:
It is purely a passive card or unit.
There is no LED visual indication for this card or unit
Following is a schematic of the MDU-40E-C-100G and MDU-40O-C-100G unit connectivity. One for the multiplexing and one for the demultiplexing need to be used. Each is a half slot card which needs to be housed in the optical adaptor card.
Typical specification and functionalities of the ILU-C-50G card are:
