OAM Interfaces

This section covers the features and description of the OAM (Operation, Administration and Management) interfaces on OAM card supported in TJ1600-6. The OAM interface provides static user interfaces and visual indications for managing operations, administration and maintenance of the system.

Backplane Interface

HCPOAM03 card connects to the backplane and receives the -48V DC input through the backplane.

BITS Interface

BITS interface is provided through an RJ45 connector for the data port and clock port.

NOTE: BITS interface is not supported for this release.

NMS interface

There are three NMS interfaces on the card namely LNMS, NMS1 and NMS2. The NMS Interfaces provide a CSMA/CD based LAN transceiver of an Ethernet link. Each NMS interface is provided on an RJ45 connector. The OAM does not do any processing on this. Out of three NMS ports, LNMS is for LAN connectivity and NMS1 and NMS2 are for Multi Shelf access.

Two LEDs are used to indicate link status of the connector. The NMS interface is associated with two LEDs, Green and Amber.

Craft interface

The Local Craft terminal is an additional LAN interface. The craft is provided through a RJ-45 connector. The additional LAN interface runs a DHCP server and the port has a fixed IP address 192.168.1.1, which cannot be changed. Hence the LAN port is always available for debugging through the GUI or a telnet session, if there is any problem with the local LAN.

NOTE: Craft interface is not supported for this release.

External alarms interface

The OAM card provides seven external alarm inputs and four external alarm outputs.

NOTE: The 1PPS, ToD and 10M interfaces indicated on faceplate of HCPOAM03 card is not supported.
