Creating OSPF Area

Perform the steps given below to create an OSPF area.

  1. Click Configuration > DCN > OSPF > Area in the navigation pane. The OSPF Area configuration preview pane is displayed.
  2. Click on Add a new OSPF Area link. The Creating OSPF Area preview pane is displayed.

  3. For parameter description and the default and the acceptable values supported, refer to the OSPF Area configuration parameters table given below.
  4. Click Submit. Successfully Created message is displayed.

Select the OSPF version from the drop-down list.

Area ID

Displays the identity of set of networks grouped together by the OSPF.

Area Type

Select the type of OSPF Area from the drop-down list. Options available are:

  • Normal Area: The backbone area (Area 0)
  • Stub Area: Blocks external routes entering into the area's database.
  • Totally Stub Area (TSA) : Blocks external routes as well as internal rotes entering into the area's database.
  • Not So Stub Area (NSSA): A type of stub area that can import external routes and send them to other areas, but still cannot receive external routes from other areas.
  • TotallyNSSA: NSSA that takes the attributes of TSA.

delete

Allows you to select the check box for deleting the provisioned OSPF area.
