Performance Monitoring

This chapter explains how you can monitor various performance statistics.

Performance Monitoring (PM) refers to the in-service, non-intrusive monitoring of transmission quality. It is the process that monitors the performance of a facility through performance data collection and analysis without interruptions to the service. Under Current interval, 15min intervals, and Previous day sub-menus, various performance oriented parameters can be accessed from this page.

NOTE 1: Performance monitoring is enabled for 10% of the lower order cross connects at the node level.

NOTE 2: For OTN, Amplifier port and CFP tranceiver Performance Counters refer document, TJ1600 R5.3 OTN and DWDM User Interface Guide, TPN: 170-DOC000082-E .

The Performance menu enables you to view and reset the performance statistics of STM/OC-n, Ethernet, OTU, and VCG ports. It also allows you to view the performance statistics of Amplifier ports on OFA card and the transceiver on Optical (STM-n/OC-n), 10GE LAN (Ethernet) and OTU4 ports.
