The Fan Tray Unit HCPFTU01 is used in TJ1600-11 chassis to cool the equipment. There are six fans present in the fan tray unit. It has two variants.
Functional features of fan tray unit (HCPFTU01) are:
Six fans
Fuse on each fan power supply to isolate any failed fan from other fans.
Fan speed monitoring and control through software, based on the temperature sensed.
Temperature monitoring on the airflow path.
Field replaceable
Separate Air filter as a Field replaceable unit.
The fan in the FTU is designed to have redundancy and the two fans do not fail simultaneously at any point of time.
Important considerations for FTU:
The second variant of FTU should be used when system is populated with HCPXCC04.
In case of single fan failure, the system works up to 40°C temperature. An Alarm is raised if any of the fans fails (the Fan tray is provided with six fans). The fan needs to be replaced, if an alarm exists on the FTU. If the alarm exists on the FTU and if the room temperature is below 40°C, the system works unless the second fan fails.
Ensure that the fan tray unit is not removed before the replacement unit is available. Also ensure that the FTU replacement procedure be completed in 30 seconds time.
Air filter is to be examined regularly at least once in 3 months. If appears dirty and clogged then to be cleaned or replaced. Cleaning to be done with vacuum cleaner.
