Configuring HCPSLine03 as SDH FEC Card

FEC feature is a Tejas proprietary and is only supported on HCPSLine03 card. License is required to be enabled in order to configure the card in SDH FEC mode. Contact the next level of support for more information on how to enable this license.

After enabling the license, perform the steps given below to configure HCPSLine03 card in FEC mode.

1. Click Inventory > Node inventory in the navigation pane. The Node Inventory preview pane is displayed. Click on the Slot 'number' corresponding to the HCPSLine03 Card Label.

   OR

   Click System > Node slot view in the navigation pane. The Node slot view preview pane is displayed. Click on HCPSLine03 card.

2. On HCPSLine03 Aggregate Card preview pane, click on Configure Card link. The Card configuration - HCPSLine03-1-<slot number> preview pane is displayed.
3. Select the Card Configuration as 'SDH FEC CARD' from the drop down list.

   

4. Click Submit. A confirmation message is displayed.
5. Click Accept Valid Modifications. A "Successfully Modified" message is displayed under the Warnings field.

   After the HCPSLine03 card is successfully configured as SDH FEC CARD, Configure FEC Ports link will be displayed on HCPSLine03 Aggregate Card pane.

Configuring FEC Ports

All four ports on HCPSLine03 card can be configured as FEC ports with HCPXCC04 cross-connect and control card.

Perform the steps given below to configure ports on HCPSLine03 card as FEC ports.

1. Click Inventory > Node inventory in the navigation pane. The Node Inventory preview pane is displayed. Click on the Slot 'number' corresponding to the HCPSLine03 Card Label.

   OR

   Click System > Node slot view in the navigation pane. The Node slot view preview pane is displayed. Click on HCPSLine03 card.

2. On HCPSLine03 Aggregate Card preview pane, click on Configure FEC Ports link. The Configure FEC Ports - HCPSLine03-1-<slot number> preview pane is displayed.

   NOTE: Ports on which FEC is already enabled will be indicated with a tick mark in the check box.

   

3. Do one of the following as desired:
   • To enable FEC on the port, select the check box against the desired Port Name.
   • Click Submit. A success message is displayed. Setting FEC Ports for HCPSLine03 is succeeded.
   • To disable FEC on the port, uncheck the check box against the desired Port Name for which FEC is already enabled.
   • Click Submit. A success message is displayed.

NOTE: Configuring HCPSLine03 card in SDH FEC mode and enabling or disabling FEC on its ports can also be performed from Shelf-1 sub-menu under Inventory in the navigation pane.
