Parameter

Description

Clear

This command clears any externally initiated command on the node.

Lockout of protection - span

Prevents the usage of the span for any protection activity. If any working traffic is already using the protection on this span, this command causes this traffic to switch back to the working channels.

Forced switch - ring

This command switches traffic from work channel to the protect channel in the span between the node which issues the command and the adjacent node connected in the direction in which command is issued. This switch occurs regardless of the state of the ring.

Manual switch - ring

This command switches traffic from work channel to the protect channel in the span between the node which issues the command and the adjacent node connected in the direction in which command is issued. This switch does not occur if a higher priority request is issued in the ring.

Exercise - ring

This command exercises the ring protection switching of the requested channel without doing the actual bridge and switch. This command is issued and the response checked by the person monitoring the network without affecting the working traffic.
