Editing MSP Group

Perform the steps given below to edit/modify the desired MSP group.

  1. Click Configuration > MSP groups in the navigation pane. The View MSP groups preview pane is displayed.
  2. Under the Name field, click on the desired MSP group link. The Protection provisioning preview pane is displayed.

  3. Select the value for the desired editable parameters. For parameter description, the default and acceptable values supported, refer to the Protection provisioning parameters table given below.
  4. Click Submit. A confirmation page is displayed.
  5. Click Accept Valid Modifications. A "Successfully Modified" message is displayed under the Warnings field.

Admin Protection Switching Mode

Parameter to indicate if the protection is either in transmitting/receiving direction only or in both transmitting and receiving direction.

  • 1WAY: Protection is in only one direction, either transmitting or receiving.
  • 2WAY: Protection is in both transmitting and receiving directions.

Admin Reversion Mode

The revertive mode of the protection.

  • Revertive: This mode enables automatic switching to work channel from protect channel, once the fault on work channel is fixed.
  • Non-Revertive: In this mode, traffic has to be manually switched from protect to work channel. Until traffic is manually switched back to work channel, traffic is carried on protect channel.

WTRTime (minutes)

Time interval (in minutes) where the traffic must switch back to work channel on rectification of work channel. This parameter is editable when 'Admin Reversion Mode' is set to Revertive.

Route Diversity

Parameter to enable or disable route diversity.

  • Enable: Allows you to have two DCC links. You can provision DCC on both work and protect ports. The ports act independently.
  • Disable: When disabled, you are not allowed to delete the MSP group since the ports are not independent.

Operational Protection Architecture

Displays the protection architecture used on the local node is 1+1.

Displays the protection switching mode on the local node are either 1WAY or 2WAY.

Displays the protection switching mode on the remote node as either 1WAY or 2WAY.

Any external request is on the remote node.

Displays the external command issued on the MSP group, if any.
