This is a Privilege based feature: The user will be able to access, view, add, edit, delete, execute & export, only if privileges have been given by the administrator. This will be defined under roles and privileges.
This menu is accessible only if the below privilege has been checked.
Schedule Discovery is also termed as Periodic Automatic Discovery where administrator can schedule the Discov
ery at specific interval for finding new Devices connected on Network and also to find if any Inventory and device components modifications.
From the “Discovery” menu ,click “Scheduled Discovery”.
Add Scheduled Discovery
Click to redirect to the Add Scheduled discovery window.
Follow the below steps to create a schedule discovery profile in NCCM
Input the Discovery Profile name in the textbox.
Input Comments in the textbox.
Set the Frequency, for discovery as required.
Choose the Start Time, accordingly.
Provide the IP address(s) in the given textbox.
Input can be a single Device management IP Address or “list of Device Management IP Address separated by comma or semicolon or single space” or Device IP address in CIDR format
When *.*.*.* is given NCCM will perform the schedule discovery for all discovered devices in NCCM. This option is mainly to detect Inventory, Interface and Hardware component changes in Device already discovered in NCCM.
Select Device credential Profile (only if the Range of Input Devices has same credential to manage) or keep it as Select Device Credential profile. NCCM will automatically find the right profile for each device during discovery.
Select Configuration profile (only if the Range of Input Devices can have same profile to manage) or keep it as Select Configuration Profile. NCCM will automatically find the right Profile for each device during discovery.
Select Connection protocol (for all the Range of Input Devices which can have same Connection protocol) or NCCM will automatically set the default connection Protocol from System Parameters.
Select Running Configuration Download protocol (for all the Range of Input Devices which can have same Configuration Download protocol) or NCCM will automatically set the default Download Protocol from System Parameters.
Select Startup Configuration Download protocol (for all the Range of Input Devices which can have same Configuration Download protocol) or NCCM will automatically set the default Download Protocol from System Parameters.
Select OS Image Download Protocol (for all the Range of Input Devices which can have same OS Download protocol) or NCCM will automatically set the default OS Download Protocol from System Parameters.
Select Inventory Download protocol (for all the Range of Input Devices which can have same Inventory Download protocol) or NCCM will automatically set the default Inventory Download Protocol from System Parameters.
Select other configuration Download protocol (for all the Range of Input Devices which can have same other configuration Download protocol) or NCCM will automatically set the default other configuration Download Protocol from System Parameters.
Choose the Process in which this Schedule Discovery should RUN.
Select the Notifier method for profile, so that ‘Scheduled Discovery’ events like Detecting new device, deleting existing device & component modification will be notified to users configured in the notifier profile.
Select or deselect filter by ping
If Filter by Ping is enabled then NCCM will filter the PING response devices and send those Devices for Discovery process.
If Filter by ping is not selected then NCCM will send all devices IP to Discovery process for SNMP Scan. Discovery could take more time when it discovery’s not PING devices.
Select Ping Time (in seconds). This will be used only when Filter by Ping is enabled.
Click ‘Save’ to schedule the device(s) discovery.
Click ‘Cancel’ to abort the operation.
Edit scheduled discovery
Select a profile and click icon to redirect to edit scheduled Discovery window.
Make changes as necessary and click Save to save the changes.
Delete scheduled discovery
Select a profile(s) and click to redirect to delete confirmation window.
Click Yes to delete the scheduled discovery configuration or click No to cancel the delete operation.
Enable Schedule Discovery
Select the profile(s) and Click to enable the profile to active state for further discovery
Disable Schedule Discovery
Select the profile(s) and click to disable the profile in performing further discovery
NOTE: “*.*.*.*” value does schedule discovery for all existing devices associated with specific process selected.
