NOTE: TJ5500 supports three class of services- Unprotected, Protected and Diamond. Diamond is a type of service where the path is protected using SNCP and the backup path management.
Pre-requisite for creating diamond circuits:
There should be at least 3 node disjoint paths (work, protect and backup) required between the source and destination node, to successfully provision a diamond circuit.
Segment protection is not supported for diamond circuits.
There are enough network resources available.
Creating Circuits from Topology View using Diamond Service
To create circuit from Topology View,
Go to Topology > Layer 1 > Circuits and click on Create Circuit From Topology View. Topology View page tab is displayed.
Go to Network View (Nodes) tab and select the source and destination nodes.
Go to Home menu tab and clickand select the option Create Circuit From Source and Destination.
Select the capacity from the drop-down menu and click OK. The Create Circuit From Topology View page is displayed.
Select the Class of Service as Diamond Service.
Select Start with Topology View check box option.
Click Start Route Creation. The graphical view is shown at the right side of the window. The Topology View is displayed with the source node in black color and destination node in grey color.
Select the desired work path from source to destination manually.
Select the desired out-going links in the Topology View associated with the source node. The node will get added automatically in the graphical view. The out-going links associated with the added node is highlighted in pink color.
Repeat above step until the destination node is reached.
Select the Enable Link selection from Topology View check box option.
Select the desired out-going link to add the protect path to the desired work path in the Topology View.
Click Protect. The protect path will get added automatically in the graphical view, provided there is only one outgoing trunk from the source node to destination node. The protect path is designated by dotted line in the graphical view.
Click Backup mode option from drop down menu to add the backup path.
Select the desired out-going link to add the backup path to the work path in the Topology View.
Click Backup. The backup path will get added automatically in the graphical view. The backup path is designated by dotted line in the graphical view.
You can either click the Create option or the Create and Activate option. Create option will create a copy of the circuit in NMS database and not provision on the nodes. Create and Activate option will create a copy in NMS and also provision the same on the nodes.
Circuits will be in "Pending state" when create option is opted.
Circuits will be in "Active state" provided all the cross-connects are provisioned in the node.
NOTE: In case of any path type (work, protect or backup protect). The automatic TLs added for any path only when the number of outgoing TLs is one from current node. Whole path is added automatically if there are all intermediate nodes having one outgoing TL for any type of path.
Create a Diamond Circuit from Circuits Menu
To create a circuit,
Click Configuration > Layer 1 > Create Circuit and click P2P/MEP Circuit. The Create Circuit page is displayed.
Click Start Route Creation. The graphical view is shown at the right side of the window.
The user has to manually select the path from source to destination. A table with all outgoing topological links from source node is displayed. It can be seen by selecting the node (source or any other node) and then clicking on "Expand" button. The table contains topological links outgoing from the selected/highlighted node, with port details.
Double-click the desired topological link in the table to select the path.
Click WorkPath-1 to see the work path. The work path is highlighted. The Properties section displays the details about the object selected in All Routes section.
For creating protect path, select a node, verify that mode on top of the graphical page is switched to "Protect" and select the nodes/topological links. If the selected node is the destination node, the mode will automatically switch to Protect mode.
Select the trunk from the create circuit window to modify the timeslots.
Select the Backup mode from drop down menu.
Select the node/Topological Link to reach the destination node.
After selecting the work, protect and backup path, you can either create a copy of the circuit in NMS database and not provision on the nodes or create a copy in NMS and also provision the same on the nodes using Create and Activate option. The created circuit is displayed in the Manage Circuits window. If the circuit is not activated while creating, it will be in "pending" state.
