Click on View button of the corresponding topology to view the network map.
Click on Node Information to view node information. Following are the steps to add new node:
A for Directional
D for Directionless
CD for Colorless-Directionless
CA for Colorless-Directional
CDC for Colorless-Directionless-Contentionless
FOADM: For Fixed-Optical-Add-Drop-Multiplexer.
NOTE: All the parameters can be overwritten by the application, if user selects the wrong type of node.
If more than 8 lambda originating from node, then that node considered as ROADM node with directionless solution.
Click on Edit button of the corresponding node to edit the node information. Fill the form and click on Submit to save data.
Click on Delete button of the corresponding node to delete the node.
Click on Topology tab to view topology information. Following are the steps to add new link:
NOTE: Links with more than 60 dB loss cannot be designed by the APT application.
Click on Edit button of the corresponding link to edit the link information. Fill the form and click on Submit to save data.
Click on Delete button of the corresponding link to delete the link.
Click on SRLG Info button of the corresponding link to view the SRLG information. Click on Add SRLG button and select the links part of the SRLG and save the data.
Click on Service Matrix tab to view services information. Following are the steps to add new service:
- 1: This stands for work path which would have been provisioned, where only one path is available for the service to flow, if the work path fails then another protection or restoration path will not be provided. Provide Protection Design as WSON or NA when protection is 1.
– 1+R: Work and restoration path (Reuse of Lambda). Provide Protection Design as WSON.
- 1+1: This stands for both Work and protected path which would have been provisioned. If work path fails, then the service which is owing through work path is routed to protected path. If the protected path fails, then another path will not be provided.
– 1+1+R: Work, protect and restoration path. Network design simulation and restoration are possible. Provide Protection Design as WSON.
– 1+1+F: Should have work and protect path forever. Provide Protection Design as WSON.
– 1+1+1: This stands for work and two protected paths which would have been provisioned. If work path fails, then the service which is flowing through work path is routed to one of the protected path. If the protected path fails, then service which is flowing through one of the protected path is routed through another protected path, if the second protected path also fails, then another path will not be provided.
NOTE: Options 1+1+R and 1+1+1 are for future use.
