TJ5100-S allows the user to add, edit, or delete notifier methods. Click-> Methods from the left menu panel.
The Notifier Methods screen gets displayed as shown below:
The Notifier Methods screen displays the details such as Name, Method, and Target of the notifier. From this screen, the user can add, edit and delete notifier.
Add Notifier Method
The user can add various notifier Methods, such as Alarm to Incident, Email, SMS, Batch file, SNMP Trap, BatchNotifierAPI, XML Notification etc.,
ALARM to incident
TJ5100-S Alarm to Incident helps push EMS alarms to Service Desk Tool (if integrated) to create Incidents.
To add TJ5100-S Alarm to Incident method, from the Notifier Methods page, click and follow the below steps:
Provide a Method Name for Notification
Select the notifier method as ‘Alarm to Incident’ from the dropdown menu. (The fields displayed in the screen are based on the type of Notifier Method selected from the drop-down).
Click . The below message appears.
BASH Command
TJ5100-S Bash Command method executes the given command on the specified server, when a particular alarm is raised.
To add TJ5100-S Bash Command method, from the Notifier Methods page, click and follow the below steps:
Provide a Method Name for Notification
Select the notifier method as ‘Bash Command’ from the dropdown menu. (The fields displayed in the screen are based on the type of Notifier Method selected from the drop-down).
Provide Command (that has to be executed). User Macros can be added, if required.
Click . The below message appears.
BASH script
TJ5100-S Bash Script method executes the given script on the specified server, when a particular alarm is raised.
To add TJ5100-S Bash Script method, from the Notifier Methods page, click and follow the below steps:
Provide a Method Name for Notification
Select the notifier method as ‘Bash Script’ from the dropdown menu. (The fields displayed in the screen are based on the type of Notifier Method selected from the drop-down).
Provide Bash File path (that has to be executed) in the given textbox . User Macros and Additional Arguments can be added, if required.
Click . The below message appears.
EMS PUSH NOTIFICATION
EMS Push Notification helps to push the configured notifications to the portal.
To add EMS Push Notification, from the Notifier Methods page, click and follow the below steps:
Provide a Method Name for Notification
Select the notifier method as ‘EMS Push Notification’ from the dropdown menu. (The fields displayed in the screen are based on the type of Notifier Method selected from the drop-down).
Click to save.
EMAIL NOTIFICATION
To add Email Notification, from the Notifier Methods page, click and follow the below steps:
Provide a Method Name for Notification.
Select the notifier method as ‘Email’ from the dropdown menu (The fields displayed in the screen are based on the type of Notifier Method selected from the drop-down).
Provide the email ID of the individual, who is intended to receive the mail ID.
Mention a subject line.
Select the Template file from the dropdown menu (pre-loaded on TJ5100-S).
For the macro field, the user can create own macros. To do so, enter all the macro names (must be case-sensitive) and their corresponding values, each entry delimited by comma. For e.g. the format can be: macro1=value1,macro2=value2,…,macroX=valueX.
Click to save.
FCM PUSH Notification
FCM Push Notification is for sending notification to the browser, even when the application is not open.
Prerequisite: https and valid SSL certificates must be configured and the browser should be open.
To add FCM Push Notification, from the Notifier Methods page, and follow the below steps:
Provide a Method Name for Notification.
Select the notifier method as ‘FCM-Push-Notification’ from the dropdown menu (The fields displayed in the screen are based on the type of Notifier Method selected from the drop-down).
Provide the API Key, as applicable (Refer FCM Configuration document for more details)
Type in the username of the individual(s), whom the notification in intended to.
Click to save.
JSON POST Notification
JSON Notification is push EMS alerts to Third Party listener system using JSON.
From the Notifier Methods page, and follow the below steps:
Provide a Method Name for Notification.
Select the notifier method as ‘JSON Notifier’ from the dropdown menu (The fields displayed in the screen are based on the type of Notifier Method selected from the drop-down).
Provide Request URL detail in the given textbox.
Select HTTP method (Get/Post) using the dropdown menu.
Valid JSON string is added by default. This can be changed, if required.
Click to save.
SMS GATEWAY Notification
To add SMS Notification, from the Notifier Methods page, click and follow the below steps:
Provide a Method Name for Notification.
Select the notifier method as ‘SMS Gateway’ from the dropdown menu (The fields displayed in the screen are based on the type of Notifier Method selected from the drop-down).
Provide a template for the SMS.
Provide Recipient’s number (separate by comma (,) for multiple recipients).
Click to save and add ‘SMS Gateway’ notifier method.
SNMP TRAP Notification
SNMP Trap Notification is used to send alarm as a trap to other Trap receivers.
To add SNMP Trap Notification, from the Notifier Methods page, click and follow the below steps:
Provide a Method Name for Notification.
Select the notifier method as ‘SNMP Trap’ from the dropdown menu (The fields displayed in the screen are based on the type of Notifier Method selected from the drop-down).
For the ‘From IP Address’ field. By default, the user must enter the IP address of the PC where TJ5100-S is running.
For the ‘To IP Address’ field, mention the IP address of the other network management application.
Assign the secure SNMPv1/v2-based community string. By default, the value is set to "public".
Mention SNMP version as 1 or 2c. By default, value is set to 1.
Mention the value of the Enterprise (OID) Object-Identifier. By default, the value is set to .1.3.6.1.4.1.16660.
Click to save and add ‘SNMP Trap’ notifier method.
SYSLOG Notifier
Syslog Notification is used to send alarm as a Syslog to other Syslog receivers.
To add Syslog Notification, from the Notifier Methods page, click and follow the below steps:
Provide a Method Name for Notification.
Select the notifier method as ‘Syslog Notifier’ from the dropdown menu (The fields displayed in the screen are based on the type of Notifier Method selected from the drop-down).
Provide the Syslog Server Host Name/IP.
Select Severity level from the Drop-down menu (Debug, information, notice etc.,) accordingly.
Click to save and add ‘Syslog’ notifier method.
XML Notification
XML Notification is used to send notifications in XML format to other services.
To add XML Notification, from the Notifier Methods page, click and follow the below steps:
Provide a Method Name for Notification.
Select the notifier method as ‘XML Notification’ from the dropdown menu (The fields displayed in the screen are based on the type of Notifier Method selected from the drop-down).
For the ‘From IP Address’ field, by default the user must enter the IP address of the PC where TJ5100-S is running.
For the ‘To IP Address’ field, mention the IP address of the other network management application.
Provide the Port number
Provide the User ID and the corresponding password.
Mention the full path name.
Click to save and add ‘XML’ notifier method.
Edit Notifier Method
To edit an existing notifier method, from the Notifier Methods screen, select the notifier method that needs to be edited, and click . Change the Parameters and click to save the changes or to discard the changes.
The process to edit notifier is same, for all notifier methods.
Delete Notifier Method
To delete an existing notifier method, from the Notifier Methods screen, select the notifier method that needs to be deleted, and click .
