Optical power monitoring per channel is required in the DWDM system in order to control the transmission performance. By measuring power using OPM and selectively pre-emphasizing each transmitter output power using variable optical attenuation OSNR at the end of the link can be optimized. OPM-4-C-50G and OPM-4-C-FLX is a 4 port and OPM-2-C-50G is a two port card which measure optical power from either 4 or 2 monitoring input ports such as OFA in the C band at 50GHz, respectively. Each card is half slot and a total of two such cards can be used in one slot in TJ1600 product family chassis with an optical adapter card.
