Provisioning Management Channel

Perform the steps given below to provision a management channel.

  1. Click Configuration > DCN > Network interface in the navigation pane. The Network interface configuration preview pane is displayed.
  2. Click on Provision Management Channel link. The Management channel configuration preview pane is displayed.

  3. Select value for the parameters. For more information, refer to Management channel configuration parameters table given below.
  4. Click Submit. Edit Network interface provisioning preview pane is displayed.
  5. Select or enter value for the desired editable parameters. For more information, refer to Edit Network interface provisioning parameters table in the topic Editing Network interface provisioning.
  6. Click Submit. A confirmation message is displayed.
  7. Click Accept Valid Modifications. A "Successfully Modified" message is displayed. The management channel is configured.

Management Channel Type

The type of the management channel.

VC12

Available values include:

  • VC12
  • Unprovisioned

SDH Path

Port

The STM port used for management channel when VC12 is selected for Management Channel Type.

STM1/4/16-1-N-M where N is the slot number in which the card is placed and M the STM port number.

STM No

The STM used for the Management channel.

--

  • 1 when STM1 port is selected
  • 1 - 4 when STM4 port is selected
  • 1 - 16 when STM16 port is selected

K

The TUG3 number.

--

1 to 3

L

The TUG2 number.

--

1 to 7

M

The TU number.

--

1 to 3 for VC12/VT2
