ORA-C-450-FG, a 1RU optical amplifier is based on Raman amplification. This consists of dual pump around 1450nm with ~450 mW optical power such that when used in single mode fiber, a typical gain of ~ 10dB in counter propagating mode can be achieved with very low effective noise figure. This enables longer reach spans for high loss networks. This amplifier is housed in a stand-alone 1 RU 19’’ sub-rack which can be used along with the product. The ORA-C-450-FG has redundant -48V DC power supply unit.
This unit can be interfaced to Element Management Software (EMS) as standalone unit or integrated through the product using the RJ45 NMS port.
OPTICAL SAFETY: This unit can emit high laser powers up to 450mW (26.5dBm). If exposed directly, this high power is hazardous to skin and eyes and can cause blindness.

The LAN Interface provides a CSMA/CD based LAN transceiver of an Ethernet link. This is available as an RJ-45 connector. The Ethernet address is available in the non-volatile memory on the OAM card.
The LAN interface physical layer is completely implemented in hardware. The physical layer device provides clock recovery, bit timing, equalization and a ‘Jabber’ circuit. The Media Access Control (MAC) function is implemented in software available as part of the microcontroller. ‘Jabber’ circuitry ensures that the transmitter does not hold up the interface for more than a full frame of data.
Two LEDs are used to indicate link status of the connector. The LAN interface is associated with two LEDs, Green and Amber.
LAN interface can be connected directly to the Element Management Software (EMS) and can be connected to the available NMS port on the product.

The ORA-C-450-FG card provides seven external alarm outputs.
ORA-C-450-FG can export 7 alarm signals to the system via the maintenance interface. These alarm signals are Power Supply Alarm, Signal Power Alarm, Output Power Alarm, Pump Current Alarm, Pump Temperature Alarm, Module Temperature Alarm, and Fan Alarm.
ORA-C-450-FG has a typical Raman gain of ~10dB at the C band in the transmission optical fiber by using optical pump power of 450mW.
