Viewing CFP Laser Details

The C form-factor pluggable (CFP) is a multi-source agreement to produce a common form-factor for the transmission of high-speed digital signals. The 'C' stands for the Latin letter C used to express the number 100 (centum), primarily defining 100 Gigabit Ethernet systems.

CFP module is associated with an OTU4/100GE port on Line card HCPSLine22.

Perform the steps given below to view the laser details of CFP module. This procedure is explained with HCPSLine22 card as a reference.

Click Inventory > Node inventory in the navigation pane. The Node Inventory preview pane is displayed. Click on the Slot 'number' corresponding to the HCPSLine22 card.
OR

Click System > Node slot view in the navigation pane. The Node slot view preview pane is displayed. Click on HCPSLine22 card.
On HCPSLine22 aggregate card preview pane, click on Ports link. The Ports on Card Shelf : 1 Slot: <slot number> preview pane is displayed.
Under the Port name field, click on the OTU4 port link. The Provision interface - OTU4-1-<slot number>-1 preview pane is displayed.
Click on the link displayed against the MsaCfp parameter. The laser details are displayed as shown in the figure below. For parameter description, refer to the CFP Laser parameters table given below.

CFP Laser parameters

Parameter	Description
Port	Displays the CFP associated port number.
MSA Laser Status	Displays the status of the laser as on, off, or MSA Not Present.
ALS Mode	Displays the Automatic Laser Shutdown (ALS) mode configured on the transceiver. ALS mode is not supported on CFP module and by default will be disable.
Rx Power (dBm)	Displays the power in decibels per milliwatt (dBm) of the received signal.
Tx Power (dBm)	Displays the power in decibels per milliwatt (dBm) at which the signal is transmitted.
Tx Laser Bias (mA)	Displays the laser bias current in terms of milliamperes.
Tx Laser Temperature (degrees C)	Displays the temperature of the lane highest among all the lanes in a CFP module in transmit direction.
Module Voltage (Volts)	Displays the voltage of the CFP module in terms of Volts.
Module Temperature (degrees C)	Displays the temperature of the transceiver in terms of degree Celsius.
Laser Type	Displays the laser type. It defines the capacity and range of the laser used in the particular interface.
Tx Laser Tunable Wavelength (nm)	Displays the operating wavelength (in nanometer) of the transceiver.
Nominal bit rate[GBits/s]	Displays the bit rate supported by the transceiver in terms of giga bit per second.
View	Click on the link will manually refresh the preview pane.
Edit	A click on the link will direct you to the Edit preview pane where you can edit the Coherent CFP parameters.
View All	A click on the link will direct you to the preview pane where list of all CFPs on the node will be displayed.
Back to Node View	A click on the link will direct you to NE information preview pane.
