Working with Optical Adapter Card

Optical Adapter Cards provide support for smaller cards by dividing a slot on the chassis into sub-slots.

Two variants of Optical Adapter Card along with the orderable product codes are mentioned below:

• HCPADP01 divides a slot into 1/3 + 2/3 sub-slots, where 1/3 slot supports FPU01 card and 2/3 supports MDU8-D card.

• HCPADP02 divides a slot into 1/2 + 1/2 sub-slots, where 1/2 slot supports OADM-1-D and OADM-4-D cards.

  Product Code: 170-PCA000104-E

In Optical Adapter Card preview pane, you can:

• view Optical Adapter Card details
• view and edit details of cards in sub-slot

Viewing Optical Adapter Card Details

Perform the steps given below to view details of the optical adapter card.

1. Click Inventory > Node inventory in the navigation pane. The Node Inventory preview pane is displayed. Click on the Slot 'number' corresponding to the HCPADP01/HCPADP02 Card Label.

   OR

   Click System > Node slot view in the navigation pane. The Node slot view preview pane is displayed. Click on HCPADP01/HCPADP02 card.

2. The Optical Adapter Card preview pane is displayed. For parameter description, refer to Card Parameters table in the topic Viewing Card Parameters.

   

Viewing Sub-slot Card Details

Perform the steps given below view the details of card present in sub-slot of Optical Adapter Card.

1. Click Inventory > Node inventory in the navigation pane. The Node Inventory preview pane is displayed. Click on the Slot 'number' corresponding to the HCPADP01/HCPADP02 Card Label.

   OR

   Click System > Node slot view in the navigation pane. The Node slot view preview pane is displayed. Click on HCPADP01/HCPADP02 card.

2. On the Optical Adapter Card preview pane, click on the SubSlot 'number' link. The corresponding card preview pane is displayed. For parameter description, refer to Card Parameters table in the topic Viewing Card Parameters.
